Yihan Zhang

Zhang Yihan, nicknamed “Mini Zhang” in China, has her own skill in the Code of Points: the Zhang, a G-rated element on bars added in 2025. At the Paris Olympics in 2024 she finished eighth in the bars final and sixth with the Chinese team.

From Henan, she came out of Paris as one of the “big sisters” of China’s LA28 cycle and set herself a clear goal for 2025: bring back her old floor routine with more difficulty. It worked. She won floor at the Cottbus World Cup and the Chinese title on floor, then took vault gold and bars bronze at the 2025 Asian Championships in Jecheon.

In 2026 she defended her national floor title, won floor gold at the Asian Championships in Zunyi (14.066) and helped China to team gold there and at the Asian Games, where she added floor bronze with the highest start value in the final.

She has been named to China’s team for Worlds in Rotterdam.
