Privacy policy

This page explains which personal data is processed when you visit gymnastics-worldwide.com, and what rights you have. In short: we do not use cookies, analytics or tracking. Nothing is loaded from third parties while you read this site, unless you start a video yourself.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that the server needs to deliver it and to keep the service secure: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and operating system. This data is processed in server logs, is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short period set by Vercel.

Legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the site securely and reliably (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Vercel may process data in the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, the EU standard contractual clauses. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Vercel.

Calendar subscription

If you subscribe to one of our calendars, your calendar app downloads the calendar file (for example calendar.ics) from our server and checks it for changes from time to time. Each of these requests creates the same server log data as a page visit. If you use the “Add to Google Calendar” button, you are taken to Google, and Google’s servers fetch the calendar on your behalf. Google’s privacy policy applies there. You can end the subscription at any time in your calendar app.

Videos (YouTube)

On competition pages you can watch routines on YouTube. The video is only loaded when you press its play button. Until then, no connection to YouTube is made. Preview images of the videos come from our own server. When you press play, the video is loaded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. YouTube then receives your IP address and technical data about your browser, and may store information on your device. Legal basis is your consent, given by pressing play (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). Google may process data in the USA; the transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.

Your team and your country

Competition pages suggest a team and a TV channel for your country. Your country is estimated in your browser from your device’s time zone and language setting; it is not sent to us. If you pick a team or a country yourself, the choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the page remembers it next time. It never leaves your device, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Fonts and flags

The fonts and flag images on this site are served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or any other font or image service is made.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Local times are calculated in your browser; your time zone is not sent to us. The only exceptions are YouTube, if you start a video, and the choice of team and country stored in your browser (see above).

Links to other websites

We link to other websites, for example the official championships site or Kunstturnen Deutschland. When you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that website applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or restricted (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, write to the email address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
