Thaís Fidelis has one of the best comeback stories of the year. Burned out, she stepped away in 2022 and gave up on her Paris 2024 dream, then returned to the gym in early 2025. At Pan Ams in Rio de Janeiro in June 2026 she won bronze in the all-around and on beam in front of a home crowd, plus team silver, a result that locked up Brazil’s spot at Worlds. They were her first Pan Am medals. Originally from Ribeirão Preto, she trains at SESI São Paulo with coach Felipe Nayme.
