Du Siyu has taken the long way around. She was the alternate on China’s bronze-medal team at the 2018 Worlds in Doha, then went years without a major international assignment. In May 2025 she hurt her right ankle landing a vault at a domestic meet and had to withdraw.

2026 has been her breakthrough. She won the Chinese national title on vault, then helped China to team gold at the Asian Championships in Zunyi, adding silver on bars with a 14.400.

At the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, at 23 the oldest member of China’s team, she posted the top bars score of the team final, a 14.866, as China won gold. Two days later she grabbed vault bronze by a single thousandth of a point.

Born in Anhui province, Du competes for Beijing and is coached by Wang Liming. China has named her to its team for Worlds in Rotterdam.
