Misa Nishiyama

Misa Nishiyama has made the jump to seniors look easy. At 15, in her first senior season, she won the 2026 All-Japan Championships and then the NHK Trophy, which locked up her spot on Japan’s Worlds team through the combined all-around standings.

A year earlier she was already a name to know: at the 2025 Junior World Championships in Manila she won floor gold, vault silver and all-around bronze. She trains at Namba Gymnastics Club.

Her first international senior year has been consistent. At the Asian Championships in Zunyi she won all-around bronze, team silver and bars bronze. At the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya in September she added all-around bronze plus silver medals on bars, on floor and with the team. Bars, with scores up to 14.533, is currently her strongest event.

She heads to Rotterdam as one of the youngest members of Japan’s team.
