Lisa Vaelen

Lisa Vaelen is Belgium’s vault specialist and one of the most consistent in Europe. At the 2026 European Championships in Zagreb she went last in the eight-woman vault final, landed two clean vaults (14.133 and 13.433) and won bronze — her third Euros vault bronze after 2023 and 2025.

In Zagreb she also helped Belgium earn its team spot for Worlds. In late September she won vault at the Paris World Challenge Cup. Last fall in Jakarta she finished fourth in the Worlds vault final, just off the podium.

Vaelen, from Bonheiden near Mechelen, competed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. She represents De Gympies Keerbergen and trains at the Topsportschool in Ghent under Ulla Koch, the former head coach of the German women’s team.

Belgium announces its Worlds team on Oct. 7. Vaelen is a strong candidate, but she hasn’t been officially named yet.
