Lea Marie Quaas

Lea Marie Quaas has been one of Germany's most consistent gymnasts for years and a reliable cornerstone of the national team. Her event is beam: at the home European Championships in Leipzig in 2025, she posted Germany's best beam score (13.133) on the way to team silver.

Born in Werdau, Saxony, in 2005, she started gymnastics there at age six. Today she trains at the national center in Chemnitz with Anatol Ashurkov and Tatjana Bachmayer and is part of the German armed forces' sports program. She has Worlds experience from Liverpool 2022 and Antwerp 2023 and won the national floor title in 2023.

After foot surgery in 2025, she returned in 2026 stronger than ever. She won Germany's second Euros trial, was the top German all-arounder at Euros in Zagreb and then won the first Worlds trial in Ketsch with 52.550.

That makes her one of the strongest contenders for Germany's Worlds team, which will be named on October 5. Her bigger goal: LA28.
